Unforgettable Friendship in ‘Maggie’s Song’ | Book Review

Maggie O’Reilly befriends a lonely little boy the first day of kindergarten. Benny Stern was a shy child, who felt unloved by his mother. From that day, he was never lonely again. Maggie became his best friend, and her family became his family. Benny loved music passionately. When Maggie’s mother saw how gifted Benny was, she ensured he followed his heart with Maggie’s father. By the time he graduated from High School, Benny was already writing songs. Maggie was determined to get his music published.

Signed to a record contract and ready for his first tour he begs Maggie to join him on the road. Reluctantly Maggie agrees and their adventures begin. When fame finds Benny Stern, he must make choices. These choices will impact his entire life and cost him more than he imagined.

Life brings many changes to both Maggie and Benny and threatens their friendship.

The storytelling is engaging and the characters are well-developed. The deep bond between Maggie and Benny is heartwarming. I really enjoyed this book. I have actually read it more than once. Five stars for sure!
